Khaled Chelli, CEO of Tunisair, and Najmeddine Mzoughi, the company's internal union leader, were jailed on Wednesday for corruption. The investigation began with Mzoughi's arrest at the Ras Jedir border with Libya. Mzoughi is suspected of diploma falsification, procuring, and corruption, allegedly receiving bribes for recruitment and promotions. The investigation involves seven other unidentified individuals. Previously, three employees were detained in April for using falsified diplomas. President Kais Saied had denounced corruption within Tunisair, including fraudulent recruitment and the illegal sale of an aircraft in 2017.
