Chad: Devastating Floods Damage N’Djamena’s Infrastructure

On August 9, 2024, severe floods struck Chad's capital, N'Djamena, causing extensive damage to both public and private infrastructure. Several neighborhoods were submerged, and key roads became impassable due to large potholes. In response, the Office of Military Engineering and Production (OGEMIP) initiated repairs to restore road accessibility. In the Dembé 3 neighborhood, authorities evacuated residents to ensure their safety. The floods underscored the urgent need to improve drainage infrastructure and urban resilience in N'Djamena.
