DESCRIPTION::
On July 25, 2024, a shootout occurred in the regional logistics directorate building in Oran, Algeria. Sources say a former member of the National People's Army, or possibly a former gendarme, entered the barracks to visit a friend still in service. He then seized his friend's service weapon and began shooting, injuring several personnel. The assailant was eventually neutralized by the military. The motives behind the attack remain unclear.
