Location:
Marracuene, Maputo Province, Mozambique, Mozambique, Southern Africa
Incident Date: February 8, 2024
Instability Rating Max 5.0: 1.50
DESCRIPTION::

Some parts of the Maputo metropolitan area are experiencing water supply restrictions due to a fault in the medium voltage power line supplying the Sábiè Water Treatment Station in Moamba district. This has led to low water pressure in the distribution network and shortages in affected areas such as Guava in Marracuene municipality, and Tsalala, Intaka, Matlhemele, and Machava in Matola. Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo (AdRMM) assures that teams are actively working to resolve the issue promptly.
