DESCRIPTION::

A boating accident on the Nile River has resulted in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to nine others, including both Egyptian and Saudi citizens. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 30, when a private riverboat, designed to carry only four people, capsized while carrying 14 passengers. Among the deceased are four children aged between eight and 15 years and a 65-year-old man. The nine injured passengers, including a Saudi family of eight, were transported to a hospital for treatment. The Public Prosecution has launched an investigation, and the boat's captain has been arrested for questioning, with findings revealing that the vessel's license had expired at the time of the accident. Emergency responders recovered three bodies, while the search for the remaining two victims is ongoing. This incident is part of a concerning trend of deadly accidents on Egypt's waterways, with a previous tragedy in July 2015 claiming 21 lives and another in May 2024 resulting in the deaths of 10 women and children.
