Mozambique: Panic in Cabo Delgado village after raid on nearby village

Mecufi town in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province experienced panic as insurgents approached following their occupation of Namplimuity village for about 19 hours. The residents fled towards Pemba, with some bus drivers exploiting the situation to raise fares. The same terrorist group had recently ambushed Mozambican forces in the nearby Metuge district. Despite security reinforcements, residents fled towards Pemba, and the terrorists claimed to have killed Mozambican forces members and committed violent acts in other districts.
