At the municipality headquarters in Adana, the deputy executive assistant to the mayor was killed in an armed assault. The assailant was identified as a local pastry shop worker. Despite being apprehended shortly after the attack, Güdük succumbed to his injuries due to excessive blood loss. Authorities stated that the assailant had entered the building without being subjected to security checks, as he was also employed by the municipality. The governor's office revealed that the motive behind the attack was a financial dispute between the assailant and Güdük, ruling out any political motivation. Adana Mayor Zeydan Karalar expressed disbelief over the incident, highlighting that the attacker had been hired after persistent requests for employment, and the motive for his actions remained unclear.
