DESCRIPTION::

64 Burkinabe, 24 Nigeriens and a Malian were reportedly arrested on the night of February 13 to 14, 2024 in Bouaké in Côte d'Ivoire, then turned back at the Yendéré border crossing in Burkina Faso. And this without any reason according to the Burkina Faso Information Agency. According to AIB sources, it was in the middle of the day on February 15 that the 89 people were taken back to Yendéré, always without any reason being notified to them. The Burkinabe authorities have not yet reacted. The move may have been in retaliation of the Sahel nations withdrawing from ECOWAS.
