Nigeria: Presidential meeting to address growing security concerns

President Bola Tinubu held a meeting with security chiefs at the State House in Abuja. The purpose of the meeting has not been disclosed, but it is understood to be related to the increasing incidents of banditry attacks in the nation’s capital. Recent events, such as a January 5 raid in the Bwari area council where gunmen abducted several people, including six sisters, and the subsequent killing of one sister by the abductors as a warning for unpaid ransom, have raised concerns. Earlier on Tuesday, Nyesom Wike, the minister of the federal capital territory, also held a meeting with heads of security agencies in Abuja.
