Nigeria: Gunmen abduct 45 bus passengers in Benue state.

Gunmen ambushed and abducted 45 passengers in three fully loaded buses along Otukpo-Enugu Road in Benue state. The armed men demanded N15 million for each victim, but later settled for N3 million per passenger.  The victims were taken into the nearby forest and negotiations for their release are ongoing between the kidnappers and their families.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the gunmen easily overpowered and stopped the vehicles on a bad portion of the road. Security forces are currently investigating the incident and trying to locate the whereabouts of the kidnappers.
