The government of Niger, says in a series of coordinated air and ground operations conducted by the Forces de Défense et de Sécurité (FDS) in the Tillabéri region, 46 terrorists were neutralized and 31 arrested between July 25 and 26, 2024, according to a report by the Centre Intégré de Coordination des Opérations (CICO) on July 27, 2024. The event was not confirmed by MEA Risk.

Two drone strikes and a ground engagement resulted in the deaths of at least 46 terrorists. On July 25, a drone strike in the Takrouzat area, approximately 9.8 km southwest of Bankilaré, neutralized at least 20 terrorists involved in a recent attack on Balanta. Another drone strike on the evening of July 26 near Alimboulé resulted in 11 terrorists being neutralized and their logistics destroyed.

Simultaneously, on the left bank of the river, FDS special forces engaged with terrorists near Kollabossaye on July 25, killing 14 terrorists and recovering AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and motorcycles. On the same day, two criminal accomplices were captured in Toukounous.

Additionally, 29 terrorists were apprehended in Torodi and Komba Bangou during the same period, including injured survivors from the Tassia attack. In Tamou, one terrorist was neutralized near an FDS barracks.

Despite these successes, the FDS reported the loss of four soldiers and 12 others wounded in the Kollabossaye engagement. The authorities expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
