DESCRIPTION::
The mayor of Xai-Xai, Emídio Xavier, was assaulted at his home by an armed individual carrying an AKM assault rifle and a pistol. The attacker vandalized the mayor's car and fled the scene. Emídio Xavier, currently under medical care, reassured residents of his well-being and urged them not to panic. The assailant, known to authorities, remains at large, prompting a police operation to apprehend him. The incident was confirmed by the commander of Xai-Xai Municipal Police, Manuel Alberto, who detailed the attack and recovery of the weapons.
