Recent reports indicate insurgent attacks on villages and roads in Cabo Delgado, with the Islamic State (IS) claiming responsibility for a recent terrorist attack in Macomia that resulted in at least 20 casualties. Cabo Delgado has faced IS-led attacks for six years, prompting a military response supported by Rwanda and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
