DESCRIPTION::

The Mozambican Police (PRM) have prevented 172 foreign citizens from illegally entering the country through seven districts in Tete province. The group included 98 Malawians, 36 Zambians, and 38 others of unspecified nationalities. They were intercepted in districts bordering Mozambique, including Angónia, Tsangano, Moatize, Changara, Mágoè, Zumbo, and Marávia. Feliciano da Camara, Tete provincial police spokesperson, stated that police efforts are being intensified to monitor and block border corridors used by illegal entrants. Last April, the Mozambican National Immigration Service (SENAMI) also prevented 87 foreign citizens from entering the country due to lack of visas, documents, and proof of accommodation.
