Insurgents carried out attacks on villages in Chiúre district, Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique, between Thursday and Saturday. The militants clashed with Mozambican Defence Forces and Rwandan forces stationed to protect local populations. While no deaths were reported, the terrorists burned down houses in Micoleni village on Saturday. Additional attacks occurred on Thursday in M’mala, Ntonhane, and Mugipala villages, and on Friday in Napala village. The village of Magaia witnessed the destruction of two churches and over a hundred houses, as confirmed by the terrorists. Over 30,000 people have been displaced, with many facing hunger and malnutrition. Cabo Delgado, rich in natural resources, has experienced terrorist attacks since 2017, leading to the displacement of nearly a million people in the last five years, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency.
