Mozambique: Islamic State claimed responsibility for a recent terrorist attacks in Macomia and Chiure

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a recent terrorist attack in Macomia, Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique, resulting in at least 20 deaths. The attack, one of the deadliest in months, targeted a position of the Mozambican armed forces. Another attack in Chiúre was also claimed by the Islamic State. The assault in Chiúre led to the destruction of public infrastructure, including a hospital and administrative buildings, as well as a Catholic church.
