The wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, issued an executive order aimed at rationalizing the consumption of drinking water in the prefecture of Casablanca. This measure comes in response to a persistent water crisis exacerbated by successive years of drought. Hammams (public baths) and carwash sites will not be allowed to operate Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Severe restrictions were imposed on watering gardens and parks, swimming pools, public areas, etc.
