DESCRIPTION::

The Turkish manufacturer Otokar confirmed receiving order from Morocco on 14 December 2023, for the purchase of 200 Cobra II armored vehicles for USD 136 million. The contract also includes spare parts, maintenance equipment and training services. Deliveries are expected to start at the end of 2024 and spread over the following year. The acquisition follows Morocco's purchase of Bayraktar drones from Turkey in 2022.

The Cobra II is a 4x4 wheeled armored tactical vehicle, with a capacity for nine personnel including the driver and the commander. It features high level of protection against threats from improvised explosive devices and land mines. Among its various functions are security and peacekeeping operations and border protection.
