#Mali 🇲🇱 | Night of 20 to 21/02 around midnight, at least 100 terrorists from Katiba Macina ( #JNIM ) attacked the eastern encampment of #FAMa to #Niono ( #Segou ). The terrorists acted out of revenge, after the neutralization of their local leader #Hamadjiré_Bah , on 02/14 by the #FAMa during a military operation. The attack was repelled by the #FDS . The assessment is provisional.

🔵 Very significant material damage has been noted in the city, including vehicles belonging to the Niono IER agronomic research station.
⚫️ At least 10 terrorists were neutralized and around twenty terrorists were reportedly captured.
⚠️ This failed attack by the terrorists demonstrates a clear lack of tactical coordination. The failure of this assault confirms the importance of neutralizing terrorist leaders.
