Burkina Faso: Anti-terror operation in tri-border area claims several lives

Insurgent groups in Burkina Faso committed several attacks in border areas and east of Ouagadougou. Police and militia forces of the VDP resisted the suspected terrorists between Tô and Biba in Muhoun Loop. Similar engagement in Bilanga area where forces defeated attackers and recovered equipment. Air assets are reported to detected a terrorist group hiding in wooded areas. Aerial assets bombarded the terrorist group, allegedly killing several.  Other insurgents are reported to have fled the area and crossed the border with Mali. The insurgents also had an armored vehicle that was hit by a missile.
