- Morocco: Authorities seek to prevent formation of new political party
The founders of the Tamunt Party for Tamont Freedoms announced that, having fulfilled all legal conditions, the Ministry of the Interior submitted their constituent file to the Administrative Court of Rabat, seeking to prevent the party's formation. The Ministry allegedly put forth incorrect and non-legal arguments to refuse authorization, aiming to deny the party its right to exist. The founders expressed disappointment, especially considering Morocco's recent election to lead the International Human Rights Council at the United Nations. The party has established a defense committee to assert its rights in court, emphasizing the need to defend organized political expression and reject administrative abuse of power.
