Troops of the Joint Task Force South-East, known as "Operation UDO KA," neutralized two members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its affiliate Eastern Security Network on July 29, 2024, who were attempting to enforce an illegal sit-at-home order. The joint patrol, which included the Nigerian Navy, Police, Department of State Services, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, encountered the IPOB members near Ogboahia in Abia State.
During the confrontation, two enforcers were neutralized, and one of their vehicles was burned. The troops recovered a Toyota Highlander, a Toyota Sienna, a Kodiak camera, a Techno phone, and cutlasses. Intelligence suggests that the insurgents allegedly intended to hijack the national protest to cause chaos in the South-East region during the illegally declared sit-at-home from July 29 to August 3, 2024.
